[prepost] tadaima!

okay, if you read this - i just want to say that i am tired out from all that travelling. (it was a mad dash from may'n to MRT to Changi to LCCT!) so i just want to apologize that there will be no updates until at least wednesday.

[prepost] saturday - AFA08 Day 2 finale

okay, so this is my final post while i am in singapore. if i still had not yet upload any AFA08 photos, im really sorry because i had not the opportunity to use the internet here.

hmm.. its 12noon, means that i get to be at Suntec halls one last time this year (this weekend is the first time i am there anyway). i hope everyone enjoyed their time at AFA08 coz i believe i did too. except for the times when i had trouble with the airlines, customs, MRT, Suntec, and food (hokkien mee here is not black like in KL, and no laksa/curry mee can compare to malaysia's authentic one). thank you sooooo much to william and family for putting up me and my friend! (*wave frantically* see you again for christmas!) oh no! christmas!!! ive just got an idea for advent calendar!

goodness me. i have great imagination or what - i am already complaining non-existant issues. (lets look forward to my first fiction publication! its in the fantasy/sci-fi genre.) lets hope i'll come home and put a strike through this complaint for good. i expect to come home and read all your comments and spamz on the cbox, okay - promise? ^____^

thanks for all your support and weekend subcription throughout the duration of AFA08! i'll be home tonight around midnight, and i have souvenir for everyone~

[prepost] saturday - AFA08 Day 1 photos

hah. gotcha.

well, not really. but you are reading this because it was pre-written on 13nov. so, i am particularly sad that i still cannot upload the photos i have taken today (assuming my big head remembered to get fresh batteries and more importantly, bring the camera along). this also means that i cant tell you if i got lost at the MRT, had a misunderstanding at the AFA ticket counter, bumped into some great cosplayers, met up a lot of people who bore familiar faces, really tired, got other people to buy me lunches and dinner, kicked motr's friends who he might be meeting, and got back to william's rather tired tonight.

they may be true but they are not a fact, no, not yet. coz now, at time of post (not press time) i am tired and my mind is wondering between memories and sleep.

tomorrow is already my last day in singapore - its too quick! where did all the time fly to?

oops, gotta stop blogging - have to pack up for AFA day 2 (and home). do not be fooled, i am posting in future p-o-v. i'll take it as a compliment if you think its believable! XD

before i forget, read my next post: 12noon, 23 november 2008. (my, isnt it exciting!)

[prepost] saturday - AFA08 Day 1

status: in singapore @ cousin william's home~ (will be leaving for AFA soon!)

as you have expected, this is the ever reliable blogger auto-publish. aint it way more trusty than having me post one by one? if i said it was going to publish today, it gets published today.

how to go to AFA08?
by public transport: ride along the MRT line to City Hall, walk underground the City Link Mall which ends up in the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre. four floors up, you arrive at the entrance of halls 403-404 which welcomes visitors to Anime Festival Asia.

the throng of people i expected to see are: cosplayers, arcade and console gamers, children and parents, Shonen Jump fans (Death Note!), STUDIO 4°C fans, kunio okawara and gundam fans, ichirou mizuki fans and "VIP fans" (those who have the not-yet-released VIP seats to his mini-concert later of the evening), and did i mention cosplayers? lets hope i have not forgotten anyone.

motr and i will be going to suntec together in a short while from this post. the hall opens at 10am, but you can purchase your pre-registered tickets starting 9am. but for me, i will be claiming my ticket at the cosplayer's counter as i have registered for the cosplayer entrance fee waive (free!) by 7nov.

i hope to see a lotta things and take loads of photos, or as many as my batteries will allow. (i have to save up for day 2 too!) oh, yes of course, my cosplay. i was hoping to group up with the singapore team (with deidara and stardust) but apparently the singapore members have taken up other characters for AFA08. well, i'll drop a couple hints on my character:
  1. same character for CF08 day 1, but manga version
  2. blonde as picture below:

truthfully, i have registered for two characters but i am only revealing one (the aforementioned is for AFA08 day 1) as i may choose not to cosplay the second character, due to baggage weight limit at the airport.

stay tuned for my next post tonight: 11.30pm, 22 november 2008. (i might be able to use the computer after all! *cross fingers for uploading photo status*)

[prepost] friday - running errands and riding MRT

status: in singapore @ cousin william's home - homestay host! (writing from overseas p-o-v, eventhough still malaysia IP address.)

what a tiring day! first it was all the hassle at LCCT. (i had forgotten how hectic can it be with airasia if there is a conflict of interest.) then it was running errands while conquering MRT (so that i dont get lost to suntec/city hall, since i already know whats the LRT like in malaysia.)

well, that could or could not have been true. all i know is that if there has been trouble at the LCCT, it was either caused by my luggage or delayed departure. (i hereby thank everyone who bothered to sms or call me earlier today~) here's one of my lengthy lists but this one is a list of errands to run while in singapore:
  1. buy singapore hardrock cafe t-shirt for xxx (unnamed because i told him nobody from class will get a mention in my blog, thus they are not able to locate my blog - imma coward?)
  2. visit cosafe @ chijmes
  3. popular bookfest @ suntec
  4. window shopping @ chinatown
  5. meet friends with motr (not going, if i chose #6..)
  6. makan dinner with relatives
  7. sakae sushi buffet at student price!
  8. buy souvenirs (its at the bottom of the list because i had forgotten about this!)
see - its not as lengthy as you thought, right? anyway, if this was posted real-time, i would be too tired out by now as it has been a long day today, and i need the sleep for tomorrow - Anime Festival Asia aka AFA08! oh, guess what are my bedtime story? defamation act (for law mid-term test!) and two whole scenes of dialogues to memorize for my upcoming play for drama class.

here is today's "image of the day" for the sake of adding visual items related to today:
singapore MRT/LRT system: eight lines, 14 terminals! (thank goodness for whichever of these i might be using: one-time travel/tourist/student pass.)

stay on your toes for my next post: 9.30am, 22 november 2008!

[prepost] I'm leaving on a red plane..

ohayo, minna-tachi~ i am posting this in advance (12 nov, crack of dawn) because roughly now (assuming airasia does not delay) motr and i are awaiting my 10am flight to the uniquely singapore Singapore. (its a repetition, live with it.)

as of now, i hereby predict that i will have difficulties to access the internet as i do not have a laptop to travel with for the weekend (would love to try their broadband speed). so its going to be understandable that the following five posts are [preposts] because i am so kind to share with you my fictional prediction. ^____^;;

oh, where was i? yes, LCCT. status: still in malaysia. if you are reading this exactly NOW (refer to posted time and date), you can sms or call me as mobile phones are only required to be switched off on the flight. in fact, i would like to receive a phone call or sms at 10am just so you can check on airasia (whether i am still waiting in the departure hall, or staring at the silver right wing from the white oval window - coz i always sit there to watch the wing unfold).

also, i believe there will be too little visual items for posts made-in-advance as i am not there to publish it with photos. (i shall take along the usb cable for the camera so i can attempt uploading photos from singapore!) anyway, for now you will have to do with canned photos because i will bombard you with [image heavy] posts afterwards. (melc, its time for me to take the limelight for a while~ XD)

you will stare at this plane, and imagine i am in there (the window on this side next to the wing) flying to singapore.

curses. i just realised that the wing might be a blinding red. i also remembered that the last time i was in the plane, i accidentally sat next to the emergency exit - felt like i was going to.. not reach my destination and get semi-panic attacks. (most if not all times, i dont get travel sickness.) if its motr's first flight, pray for me that i wont need a change of clothes. T__T

last but not least, hello singapore and all friends (megamitensei, ywsmokona and friend/s, clow and emina members, deidara and stardust, aoshi and /as/ members)! see you guys there~ (how silly of me - if i have no internet, so dont they.)

look forward to my next post on auto-publish: 9.30pm, 21 november 2008!

booksss!

on the fourth week of october, i went book-shopping~ it was great happiness. what can i say?

first i went to kinokuniya to get something off my wishlist as apparently, i had not realised that The Graveyard Book was written by the same infamous author, Neil Gaiman who wrote Stardust. so, when a local sunday paper came up with a review by daphne lee, instant 30% discount on the book alone! (with no prior purchase but must be accompanied by an original voucher cutout.)

next, there was this MPH warehouse sale going on in PJ on 22-28 october. kilmenyanne and friends went on wednesday, while i went on thursday. not much difference as most of the books started to fly out of the boxes (not shelves) on friday and mostly saturday. i know because i went there again on sunday with mum and mizuiro. have a look at the titles i grabbed:
  1. it's not about the hair (debra jarvis) = rm20 (hardcover)
  2. deltora shadowlands (emily rodda) = rm3
  3. collins english-malay dictionary = rm5
  4. artemis fowl: the opal deception = rm5 (slightly torn at the back)
the first book on the list is about debra going through cancer, and of course i dont want cancer but im reading it as umm, tribute to one of my favourite characters in sex and the city, samantha (as she battles cancer in the sixth season too). as for the dual-language dictionary, i am going to use it in translation class and exam. so there!

malaysian motorcycle grand prix 2008 - part 1

honestly, i wasnt a great big fan of motorsports nor am i now. thanks to traxx.fm, kilmenyanne and i were lucky to win two complimentary tickets each (that means four in total, for those who couldnt count better than me) to watch/listen/insert-verbs. armed with a canon powershot A430 (4.0 mp) and extra batteries, here i am reporting to you some weeks later after we all know what happen to whom where of the malaysian motor gp.

photostory! (coz i dont know who was which anyway. look at the photos and recognize the racers by yourself okay? :) great.)

part 1: leading up to the race (trust me, its gonna kill you after the first few shots)...

glad to be under an umbrella on a rainy day. have to start off with the motogp girls, agreed? (no photoshop except on my girlfriends. hahah~)

i went to the sepang circuit on 18 october (day 2) with kilmenyanne and tharani. as i have experienced, there will be people who searches high and low on the internet to get directions to sepang circuit for future races (like i did). there, i have just typed in all the keywords to keep this post alive for other randoms to bump my post to the first page when they search sepang circuit.

how to go to sepang circuit
by public transport: go to (if group, meet up at) kl sentral. take the yellow LCCT bus (one-way: rm8; two-way: rm7x2=14). at the main foyer of kl sentral, there should be a promotional booth for whatever race you are going to (in my case, the morongp); you can ask them to direct you if you happen to never have taken public transport before. once on the bus, take a nap as its gonna be a while before the bus is full and it'll also take 45minutes(?) to reach the sepang circuit. where does it stop you? the entrance of the mall area.
for more information: Sepang Circuit website

looking for seats?

camera(s): checked!

standby staff: checked!

begin begun! mind you, its hard to get a shot at their speed and my slowpoke camera shutter speed, even after manual adjustments.

you dont know how many shots i had to delete just to get each one that wasnt staring at an empty tar ground.

one of the few rare shots i managed by auto-multiple shots~

*adjust duo/quadpod (my arms and knees)* *maximise zoom*

my best solo shot. sad, isnt it? of all race suits, i had to get the best picture of the worst fashion statement. that is puke-coloured!

testing camera zoom capability~

if you zoom-in, the back of the car says "media vehicle." i get a live international show and a free ride as reporter?

landscape shots I~

landscape shots II~

*whisperwhisper* is it time yet?

flagging the racers that the qualifying laps are finally over.

must get this shot for kilmenyanne - a fan.

have to do others some justice too.

a not-so-significant result, except for no.4 who got first in this qualifying round.

press conference area (real quick set-up!)

victory lap! (honestly, how did you not know?)

testing my camera zoom capability, the umpteenth time.

the closing...

okay, now that that's done, head over to part 2!

blog updates~

above this post is the unbelievably noticeable cbox that i have finally took the initiative to move it here [ALIS] from my second blog [365 210 days] since nobody listens ("why upload it there when nobody reads my 365-days blog? because i already cluttered my current sidebar with too much deco. therefore if you do find the need to comment briefly, you are allowed to drop me a few chatlines" - music for the soul).

it was only recently dawned on me that i have managed to maximise the adverts on my blog (the more the merrier.. but dont count how many; you'll be happier) so i was thinking, hey i think i have got some space to squeeze in a cbox up here. so *poof* enjoy~ (WAIT. i still await your comments here and there okay?)

lets see.. also, im no longer updating the music playlist as you can see, the clutter has not left the jumble on the right (please do not inquire how much better my bedroom fared). but if you want, you could call my mobile once in a while, and i promise to let the phone ring a few times before i pick up so you can listen to my (perhaps annoying) caller ringtone. this month its Secondhand Serenade - Fall For You. (there were another two interesting choice which i love but dint pick: Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl; Coldplay - Viva La Vida)

ah. this has nothing to do with my blog but i just had a haircut last week. XD i cut my fringe short again. nothing. >///<>
