january manga supplies!

okay, i recently found a very low price (slightly cheaper than at Kinokuniya) of a japanese manga which has been out of print for many years now. so old that Kinokuniya cannot help me order it. eventhough it is CLAMP. star names just will not do these days.

Chobits vol.8 is in my hands! it was flown in all the way from Japan (SAL shipping took almost a fortnight to arrive) and the seller kindly used three anime stamps (and bubble wrap my book)! *sigh happily*

it has been a long while since i last washed and dried a stamp to add in my stamp collection book. i'll be sure to order more from this seller in the future coz i want to collect more Japan anime stamps!

one Hello Kitty heart stamp and two Detective Conan stamps~

january food theme - cupcakes & cake!

a fortnight ago, melc and i were baking some fairy cupcakes and a fairy cake at my place. the recipe is fairly simple (search "tinkerbell cupcake" in Youtube) and, so basic that you can modify the recipe to your liking as you experiment with time according to your preference.

but most of all, our mission was to learn how to decorate using marshmallow fondant~ it was one of those recipes i read up from Hugbear's Baking Mum blog. here are our results!

hi mel! bye mel! (lots of photos after the jump!)

the past fortnight, MelC took her time off to return for a stay in malaysia - mostly, to makan i think (since she went home with so many Maggi mee packets).hahaha~

anyway, i hope you had lots of fun and took back good memories to the states until next time, MelC! i managed to take a few days to kidnap her away with friends to hang out in the fortnight that was.

the Gardens: one of the places we went!

christmas bento!

well, i know it is really late or way too early for christmas, but since i was in the mood to make a christmas themed bento, i packed this away for lunch (the day after i made the bear bento) to class.

i wonder when will i make the next one! i have yet to make the Orange-kun bento~

Already Gone

Already Gone lyrics

Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye

Even with our fists held high
It would never would've worked out right
We were never meant for do or die

I didn't want us to burn out
I didn't come here to hold you, now I can't stop

I want you to know that it doesn't matter
Where we take this road someone's gotta go
And I want you to know you couldn't have love me better
But I want you to move on so I'm already gone

Looking at you makes it harder
But I know that you'll find another
That doesn't always make you want to cry

Started with a perfect kiss then we could feel the poison set in
Perfect couldn't keep this love alive
You know that I love you so, I love you enough to let you go

I want you to know that it doesn't matter
Where we take this road someone's gotta go
And I want you to know you couldn't have love me better
But I want you to move on so I'm already gone

I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right when you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on so I'm already gone

Already gone, already gone, already gone
Already gone, already gone, already gone, yeah

Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye

5-minute bento! featuring shirokuma-chan~ (white bear)

a couple night before, i was browsing for marshmallow fondant decoration ideas for cupcakes. somehow, bento photos got in the way and i was immediately distracted!

i browsed through many, many Flikr bento pools, and i was really inspired by everyone's creative bento sets!  oh, also tutorial pages like Blur Mommy's Kooky Culinary. the next thing you know, opportunity strikes.

i was early (finally) to carpool with my friend to campus, so i decided to make the best out of two items that inspired me most the night before:

there wasn't much time to make a fancy bento like most people who makes bento do, so i decided to try a 5-minute bento box!

december food theme - cookies!

okay, it was not an official monthly rule from anywhere. i just thought that it would be a propriate to bake some cookies for the last christmas~

on the eve of christmas, i return home and the house was silent but i could smell hot charcoal from my neighbour's brand new red medium-sized barbeque pit. feeling alone without the presence of a good tv movie to watch, i saw a cookie-baking recipe book misplaced on the hall table. i quickly flipped through, and vowed to bake the simplest recipe i could find in the book!

november food theme - cheesecake!

one day, zend sent me a photo of his double Oreo cheesecake. the next thing i know, i want to make one too!

i went online to find a good simple recipe which contains ingredients which are familiar to me, and i found it at Hugbear's Baking Mum blog. in fact, it was a non-bake Oreo cheesecake! how cool is that? *happy*
it took a while before i gathered the ingredients, with mummy sponsoring me, here are photos as results from my very own Oreo cheesecakes! yes, plural - coz i made a square one due to too much cheese filling. lol.

Happy new year 2010! -resolutions-

the new year seem to have arrived without doubt, continuing since the beginning of time, going on tirelessly and effortlessly.

thus, it is now time for some new year resolutions! let's get started~
  1. be on time! i'm almost always late for everything. late to wake up, late to get ready, late to go, late to start, late to finish up... this year i vow to be on time! (you might notice i did not mention "late to bed". haha~)
  2. save money! i know i spend a lot of money, so i have to save even more! i will do my best to save RM10 at the end of each week, consistently, so if i spend RM5000 a year (no matter equal, more or less spent), i should save at least RM500.
  3. no breaking the piggy bank for monies!
  4. more kitchen time! and i don't mean eating and cleaning the dishes! i want to learn more baking and bento-making because they are fun to make~ plus, they make me happy. =^__^=
  5. practice bass guitar regularly! recently i have joined a cosplay band who plans to make our first live performance in april this year. other than the dust, you clearly see why i must practice more so that i can learn to play better.
  6. earn my first RM100 cheque from Nuffnang. okay, i know its not my first cheque, but it would be my first RM100 cheque. i hope akikowolf.com will increase its value by RM20-50 each year from ad revenue~ that means i need to blog regularly!
  7. complete my past and present cosplays. i am in my third-fourth-ish cosplay year now and i believe i must have a dozen or more costumes by now. however, not all are completed 100%. so, that means no more new characters this year (or until i am done with the past costumes)!
  8. keep up my online shopping service. there is a super duper marginal profit from the online shopping service that i provide. i dont plan to make it big, but maybe i should make it less charitable and more business-like.
  9. *to be continued, if any*
